ANDREW YOUNG, DO

Dr. Andrew Young is an allopathic and osteopathic board certified Family Medicine physician. He provides comprehensive health care for people of all ages including newborns, children, adults, and seniors. He was born and raised in Newark, DE and is an avid golfer and guitar player.

Dr. Young graduated from The University of Delaware in Newark, DE in 2012 with a degree in Exercise Science/Kinesiology. He then graduated medical school from Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine in Philadelphia, PA in 2018.

Dr. Young completed his Family Medicine Residency in 2021 at the Christiana Care Family Medicine Residency Program in Wilmington, DE. During his time there he utilized his interests in diet, nutrition, and exercise to counsel his patients on healthy lifestyle modifications and was the lead researcher on his IRB approved project, “The Effects of Daily Time Restricted Feeding on Otherwise Healthy Overweight and Obese Individuals.” As a resident physician, Dr. Young also enjoyed teaching medical students from Thomas Jefferson University and Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine in the outpatient and inpatient setting. Currently, Andrew is a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians.

 

In his role here at Needham-Wellesley Family Medicine, Dr. Young will provide continuing and comprehensive health care for individuals and families across all ages, genders, diseases, and parts of the body. As shown by his backgrounds in osteopathic medicine and exercise science, Dr. Young’s particular interests include musculoskeletal medicine, keeping his patient population active and moving and counseling on preventive medicine.
